Haven’t been to Wisconsin in a few years is there still talk of light rail between Madison and Milwaukee? Or in the general Dane County region for that matter?
I haven’t heard the subject in the news lately. Most transportation news around Milwaukee has to do with the downtown interchange rebuilding. Although the Amtrak station in Milwaukee is being remodeled.
Some sites to check out for information:

Wow, sounds like they’re more serious about it lately than I thought. Very cool, probably about time that they started stepping those projects up… I remember when Tommy Thompson was kind of hinting towards needing light rail. I think secretely he is a train fan. Glad to hear the Amtrak station is getting some attention, too. Thanks for the news zardoz.
Light rail has long been a topic of interest in Milwaukee, probably going almost all the way back to when it was removed from the city in the first place! Local officials’ latest genius idea is the “Milwaukee Connector”, which would have put a guided bus on a single rail (monorail? Remember North Haverbrook?[;)]) in a dedicated lane on some of Milwaukee’s busiest streets…
At the same time, a regular rail line is being abandoned that passes the VA, Miller Park, State Fair Park, and the Zoo… but that’s gonna become a bike trail… [banghead]
