Light Rail - MN VIKINGS

To fillfill train related posting criteria: light rail serves the Minneapolis Metrodome - home of the Minnesota Vikes.

Now for my shameless plug: GO VIKES!!!

A light rail line will get you within 4 blocks of Bank of America Stadium where the Carolina Panthers play.

In late December the Panthers beat the Vikings 26 - 7.

That said. I am pulling for the Vikings in the playoffs, too.

Now, everyone who comments on this thread be sure to say something about a train.

Go Vikes. We looked at the pics of Flagstaff AZ. and decided not to take the motorhome to Arizona Sunday and stay here in Minnesota to watch the game. Maybe we can head out Tuesday.

Back to trains, Not only does the lightrail end up at the new baseball field, but our new commutor line does as well. That might make a great downtown scene for somebody’s layout. Great old warehouses, a baseball field, a lightrail station with tracks, a commutor station and the old Soo line yards all in a small area. I bet someone could get that on a 4x8 in HO rather well.

You could go to the game by rail, take the Empire Builder from the Twin Cities to Chicago, then the City of New Orleans to N.O. Well, except you can’t take the light rail to the Amtrak depot in the Midway area so you’d have to get there by auto. [sigh]

You can take the MBTA commuter rail from Boston down to Foxboro when the Patriots are playing. They run extra trains specifically for the games.

There are light rail stops for Fenway Park (Red Sox) and the Banknorth Garden (Bruins, Celtics) and the Garden is served by commuter rail as well.

Since the Pats are out of it, I’m pulling for the Vikings, too. Something about old guys with gray beards, I think.

Even though Brett Favre did everything he could to avoid training camp.

Light Rail to Kings game is not possible, now to River Cats games (Triple A Baseball team) you can ride to downtown and then take shuttle bus to stadium. And since Forty-Niners and Packers are out, I too am going with Vikings!

i’m pulling for (say it like the shwam) THE NEW ORLEANS SAINTS!!! My Packers got ousted int he first round (can’t believe arizona’s defense won the game; what an ironic ending to an all-offense day) but we’ll be back next year.

That being said if the Jets lose (my mom and sister will be pulling for that) and the Vikings win I’ll be pulling not for the Vikings (Jared Allen is a cocky little son of a gun and I’m not a big fan of his), but for my boy Brett Favre! Until he went to the Jets I grew up with him as the Packers QB (in fact, since I’ve been alive the only starters for the Pack at QB are Favre and Rodgers). i’ve been pulling against him all season, but I’ll pull for him in the superbowl if the Jets don’t make it (finally have an excuse to wear my Favre packer sand Jets jerseys (i refuse to buy a Vikings jersey though)

Anyways, on commuter or light rail lines, I’m planning a freelanced one for my layout to have a passenger platform in the town on my layout.

Sawyer, We are Packers fans too, living in NW Wisconsin. My guess is that HCMC will have a rash of broken leg and arm cases Monday after the loss to N.O. Due to jumping OFF the bandwagon.
