Lighted Plasticville?

Has anyone come up with a way to make translucent copies of the cardboard inserts for Plasticville store windows?

They would look a lot better when they have lights in them.

I thought about this a while back but decided it was too much work when I wanted to keep the original look to my Plasticville buildings.

Here’s what I though of. Take out the window inserts. Scan them to a computer. Then print the images onto clear transparency paper.

But to do this you need a good scanner, a computer with a photo editing program (to get the sizing right), a color laser printer, and this printer must be able to print onto transparencies. So a trip to the local Kinko’s or similar store may be required.

Never tried it myself for Plasticville inserts, but it should work. I’ve done this procedure for an HO “window” wall with a Kachina in it for a Santa Fe lounge interior.

If you have access to a color copier, you should be able to just copy the inserts onto transparent or translucent stock.

Where would I find the material, what should I ask for?
