Does anyone know of a lighted push button system I can put on a control board to control my old Atlas custom line turnouts. I have switched to NCE DCC. The old board has Super buttons II on it , but it is a mickey-mouse switch that frequently shorts and fries the switch machine?
Check out the accessory decoders made by a few of the DCC manufactures. Very easy to hook up a pushbutton with LED indicator lights with these.
Try the old Acme line that is sometimes advertised in MR

Kadee has (had) some sort of push buttons I remember seeing a few years ago. Not sure if they’re lighted or not but the packages I saw at the time came in different colors.
Don’t know if Ray Breyer’s reading this to jog my memory, but wasn’t there a manufacturer of lighted pushbuttons way back in the sixties or early-seventies called GH Products, or some such. I’ve got a bunch of these but they’re packed away in the basement “someplace”. It was a neat system where you had a small lite bulb in a chrome metal tube, and colored plastic inserts for the various colors you wanted the push button to be - red, yellow, green, and, I think, blue? They’re probably long gone by now.
Nowadays, I would ASSume something using led’s would be the way to go.
I just operated on a narrow gauge layout that had a unique system. When the turnout was alligned for the diverging route a red led blinked at the turnout control on the fascia. When it was alligned for the normal route it turned off. IT sure got the attention of the operators and gave a very strong indication of the turnout route.
The Acme buttons are too large. I am looking for a lighted button about 3/16" in diameter.
To ndprr; Do you know any details on how the system works?
Try Radio Shack catalog or DeMar Electronics (ad in MR)
MicroEngineering have some very small push button buttons for your panels.
That’s what my bro is using on his. I guess actually that is what most of the guys in my club are using also.
See if you can find some of the old push-button sets from the old telephones and remove the locking bar. This makes the button instant or as long as you hold down the button. They make great switch buttons, can be lit, can be different colors and they are very reliable and have multiple contacts. The buttons come in sets of 6 which are good for 3 switches. I got mine from the telephone company when they changed out the old phones for the new ones.
