lighting a ho turn table

Hello I was looking at the wpf and seen the turn table with lights. I would like to share my idea. On how I would do it. Take 4 brass washers 2 on top of the table gear and 2 on bottom fansen with brass tubing in middle bring feed line in bottom have to make wiper to rub brass ring same for top. Run wire up through bridge to lights. I have not tyred it yet but I will this week. What do you guys think?

Better Idea yet. I took a 1.5" 2 pole jack and used it as the centre post/fulcrum/ conductor for lighting and pwering the rails.

That’s a stereo plug and jack in case anyone can’t figure it out! The large kind that used to be for headphones. I recently gave a pair to a friend who wants to power a turntable. The method has been around for a long time.

I am working on a N scale turntable with a stereo plug and jack…when its done I should be able to pull the bridge out to work on it then just plug it back in…sure makes wiring simple I am also using a small round cake pan for the pit…Cox 47

That sounds a lot easier can I get one at radio shack ? Where do you put the gear? on the bottom post? and then remount the motor to fit. Can I find a print or article on this? Thanks frank

Radio Shck is where I got mine. You’ll find photos of my adaptation in my Railimages gallery as seen in my signature . Sry i can’t get access to the site from my work computer.

Those methods won’t work with the Walthers Turntable. It has a very well-designed hub that transmits track power as well as the photo-cell activated indexing.

Years ago I built a scratch built tt, and article about which is located here:

I used the headphone jack trick also…

Hello well went to radio shack at lunch no pole jacks the guy had no idea what it was. So I looked around didn’t see any or anything that would work. I have buddy that might have one he has garage full of junk like that. I do have a Walther’s turn table but it dose not have a photo cell . So do I still need a pole jack or should go with the rings and wipers? Thanks Frank
