Happy Thanksgiving All !!
Let’s always be thankful for the land we live in, the family we have, and most of all the space we all have for our great layouts[swg]

I have a question for anybody who can help, Last weekend I went to this club layout in Portland, for the locals it"s the Columbia Gorge Lines, they have a point in time when they simulate day turning into night, in this one town the street lights acualy come on when night falls!!! is there a way to wire this system or is there a component that I can purchase to make this work?? I could suggest two ways to do it:

  1. If you’re running a fast clock or timed day/night cycle, then wire a timer into the street light circuit, synchronised to when ‘night’ falls

  2. Put a light sensor concealed somewhere on the layout, wired to turn on the street lights when it detects a drop in light.

The local Radio Shack should have kits to do both of these.
