Hi everybody. I need to know what kind of websites have HO station lamp posts since I went to a train mueseum I saw lamp post on the layout. What websites should I visit first.

www.walthers.com is the place to search for things. Once you ahve found the part you are interested in then you can google the manufacturer and look at some of the on-line discounters.

I like www.discounttrainsonline.com as my “search engine” for items I want to buy. They have a great selection, and pictures of most items. Their search works well, and tends to be a better filter than the Walthers site. (If I’m looking for a locomotive, I don’t want 3 pages of decal listings.) Also, Walthers tends to show what is, was or ever will be available. A lot of things in their catalog are unavailable.

Besides that, they have good prices and reasonable shipping charges. I usually keep a wish list of little things (figures, scenic stuff, structures, odd parts) that I wouldn’t order just by themselves, but if I buy them all at once then the shipping cost is spread out and I save some money.

And sometimes I go to my LHS, see something and buy it. His prices are good too, sometimes beating the on-line guys.

Also, ask the museum to find out who built the layout, then contact the builder. Since local clubs usually do the building, most are happy to tell people where the got stuff, and how much it costs.

These people make lots of street lamps.
