limousine

Anyone know where I might be able to find an HO scale Limo? I’m looking for a new style one, not like a 50’s Caddilac. I’ve looked online, and keep coming up with European vehicles (since they use the term Limousine to mean sedan sometimes).
First place I looked was on http://www.1-87vehicles.org. Couldn’t find anything there except the Audi sedan (limo).

I’m sure these have to be made, and I’m sure some of you people would use them. Let me know if you have any ideas.

I’ve seen Hot Wheels and other die cast limos. Replace the wheels and tires with suitable sized ones and you should be in business.

You could try www.sktoytrucks.com and when you get on their site there is a link to all the HO/1-87 scale vehicle manufacturers. the link is about 2/3’s down the page on the right.

I’ll have to check out the Hot Wheels, but aren’t they are larger scale than 1/87th? Although I think Hot Wheels and Matchbox don’t have a set scale. More like whatever fits in the box is their scale. I guess I’ll have to check.

Was I missing something on that website? The only thing that I could find was about tracktor trailers.

Try e-bay HO accessories. I picked up a few that were later than the fifies

How about the 60’s
BUSCH makes a 66 cadillac limo and a 66 cadillac station wagon.
Try www.busch-model.com

I would not recommend matchbox or Hot Wheels, they are like 1/64 th scale or so, much too big for H0. I can’t come up with a better suggestion than cutting up two '66 Cadillacs from Busch. Sadly, there are no Lincoln Town Cars out there.

We have a small outfit here in Germany called bs design, they make resin kits and used to have a '72 or '74 Eldorado, will check what else they have.

These models qualify for my crusher in my junk yard. Cheap and you can’t tell the size afterwards.

Here’s the link:

They have a Mercedes 600, just a 60’s German limo, a Checker Cab, an older Ford Bronco 2 door, the mentioned Eldorado, but the older stuff is clear resin, easily mixed up with candies (which no doubt taste better) and would qualify as background stand-ins…

Correction: The Mercedes and the Checker are resin kits, there is also a GMC Stepside Pickup, an Opel Frontera which is an Isuzu, and a 70’s Jeep Wagoneer.

The Eldo and the Bronco are full-cast clear resin, like the Magnuson stuff years ago…
