Links

OK-OK I’m an older gizzer and slow at learning. On the old forum you could type in a web site and it would turn blue so one could just click on it and go there. How do you do it here? Is it one of those subscriber things? Ken

then the address , thenyou can type [ url ] then the address , then [ /url ] . leave out the spaces that i inserted because if i didn’t you’d just see

I actually learned how to do this “same trick” using Yahoo e-mail.

Here is how a link for Model Railroder Magizine is created as http://www.trains.com/mrr/

For the following example, you use your mouse to copy & paste like you are in your word processing program…

First, get into the Forum Reply box where you will see the Forum editing icon bar at the top.

Second, go your bookmark for Model Railroader Magazine.
Then right click for its specific Bookmarks context menu.
Then left click on Properties.
Then mark the URL, and right click to copy the entire URL.

Third, paste the URL into this reply like so http://www.trains.com/mrr/ and make sure to edit in a space on either side of the pasted URL.

Fourth, note the next to last greenish-blue Forum icon that message bubbles “Create Link”

Fifth, the URL you just pasted into your reply should still be in your computer memory
(If not, simply mark and copy the URL you just pasted into your reply).
Then click on the Forum Create Link.
Paste the entire URL under where it says Enter a URL.
Hit - OK.

So, here is the http://www.trains.com/mrr/ link for Model Railroader Magazine.

There is another way by simply typing in the URL, but as a rule, I don’t memorize my bookmarks. Perhaps others may have some other favorite methods.
