LION on Vacation

The LION is going on vacation to Pennsylvania and its environs (read NYC). Him will take a computer with him and will check in. Make a PM if you want to try to catch the LION for some trips on trains.

ROAR

Hope you have a nice vacation, Lion, and hope, too, that Lion not get tooth ache (fang ache?). Believe me, Lion not want to see dentist.

Wayne

Pennsylvania dentists OK. Minnesota dentists, not so much.

Dave Nelson

I am envious!!! I want to go to Pennsylvania…that’s where I’m from. Haven’t been there since 1998. Bummer. But Immediate family moved to Texas…bummer. Well I’ll get back there someday. Want to ride the Keystone from Harrisburg to Phila. 105 mph in some places. Imagine skirting Amish farm fields at that speed. What a rush.

Anyway. Have a great time. And tell us of your adventures when you return…or in the meantime.

Have fun.

Mark H

Lion go play Strasuburg RR or Steamtown? Check out the backshop tours both places.

Enjoy Lion! Pennsy is not all bad… After all, it was a big rail state!

Weird Al’s Amish paradise gets a little funny reception in places though… [:-^]

If you come by the NW area of Pa, shoot me a message, I can not be of any assistance (or company) on the eastern side though… Work schedule is crazy right now… (Back to school sales, and I work retail sales at a chain store.)

I do second the vote on Steamtown though… If you are into steam. If you are not,… You will be when you leave!

Lion,

I’m curious…Will You be traveling incognito? Or Monastery issue Lion suit? If the latter…Yeah!..be sure to watch out for Dentist’s. [swg] Hopefully We will see some ‘‘New’’ subway pic’s [8D] If You get a chance, to sneak over there.

Have a Greaaaaaaaaaaaaat time!

Take Care! [:D]

Frank

If you make it around the Reading area let me know. I can’t show you much of a layout, all I have is my old one in pieces stacked on the floor, but there are some nice rides and museums to see.

Will Lion be checking out the Pennsylvania RR Museum. Joe would love to Join but I am laid up in rehab somewhere in Staten Island.

Have a most enjoyable vacation Lion. How long will you be away from your lair?

[:-^]

Enjoy the Vacation Br. Elias,

North Dakota won’t be the same until your return.

Johnboy out…

I just wish Lion would stop posting in the third person, it’s annoying.

I find that a funny/strange comment. [#dots]
Br. Elias has been doing that for years. Take a look at his post count compared to yours, slightly over 5000 plus difference… Lol… He has the Seniority and if it gives him pleasure it is OK with most of us. Pay attention to him and what he has to teach you. You will become much richer in knowledge and skill in modelling in a frugal style and making it all come together successfully.
Johnboy out…

Having 5000 posts means nothing, the way he posts is very annoying and very hard to read.

You can like it all you want but I don’t have to.

He CAN write first person, at least I HOPE the MR editors didn’t have to compeltely rewrite his submission that got published in Workshop Tips a few months ago.

–Randy

Him not be happy with you, DAVID FORTNEY. Him not like to write in first LION, so him write in third LION. Him different than ewe and eye. Him own and operate largest subway system in North Dakota. Watch out, him may have ewe over for dinner.

Safe trip LION! Welcome to our fair Commonwealth of Pennsylvania!

Regards,

Don.

Thought lions were poor, could not afford vacation?

No idea how poor or rich Lion may be, and it’s not our business. Most of his commentary indicates he has creatively managed to stretch a very limited budget in construction of his model railroad. I doubt he has been reduced to hitchhiking or riding the rods to go on vacation, but I’m sure he’s not using his own private jet either. Everybody needs a break for a change of scene and an opportunity to see family and old friends now and then. That’s a good way to promote mental health. He has made a commitment to a life that most of us wouldn’t go for, but there’s no logical reason to think he has to eke out a life on spirituality alone. All things in moderation.

Now I’ll get down off my soap box.

Tom

Would that mean I’m on vacation every day?
