Thanks for the thumbs up Reading. Unfortunately the 4 affordable beginner locos are done in the same ol’ well worn moth eaten roadnames that have been done forever. Even a Penn Central GP-20 would have been preferable to yet another NYC loco. And instead of hitting on a road that kids would recognize, they go with Great Northern for the GP-9 - even though BNSF practically uses the same paint scheme.
At least the GEEPs have dual motors. Now I will wait for Lionel to re-relase the Conrail U36B with dual motors as it should have been in the first place.
At least I know there’s nothing for me in the catalog, so I don’t have to waste my time getting one.
Anyone notice that the Santa Fe 2383’s and Hudson Set are not in the new catalog. For the past few years with the premium F3 PWC sets they have been in at least 2 runs. That means that they were great sellers and are sold out or they are limited run items. Either way I will be ordering the Virginian FM Set and I few more PWC cars. Nice stuff - still lacking modern motive power in my opinion - too much focus on PRR.
