Has anyone heard any updates on the Lionel 2009 catalog? It is usually here by now.
Thanks.

I usually get one too about this time of the year and mine has not come [:(] Speaking with the Lionel people I know they are short staffed right now, they could not even give me an ETA…
The ready to run and K-Line catalogs are already on the streets. They were supposed to be sent the first week in March, but the printer screwed up. The main catalogs are due first week of March with posting on the web concurrently.

while at my LHS which has been a Lionel dealer since 1943, the owner said much the same. He said that the internal sales staff had gone from a bunch down to one!?!?
He also passed on some rumors about ownership, but being only rumors I see no need to stir the pot.
Saw the RTR and KLine catalogs tonight while at the LTS… Only two items I am interest in, one in the KLine catalog and one in the RTR.
I was also informed that the other catalog has been shipped by the publisher and should be in the stores next week.
One thing I did find interesting… the LTS has the Lionel Rosie’s Diner (I think that was the name) and the KLine Stella’s dinner. The Rosie’s Diner has smoke, and siloettes in the windows. Stella’s has smoke, jukebox sound, and fully detailed interior. Rosies = $84.99, Stellas $149.99… I thought KLine was supposed to be a step down from Lionel…
Depends on which k-line and which lionel really . Some k-line was alot more detailed and vice-a-versa … being steps up or down . As usual … it’s what bucks you want to pay or if you’re a dedicated Lionel only collector . If only williams had gone the lionel route on sounds and etc. It was a severe loss to have k-line and williams sell out …
K-Line made some differant stuff than Lionel, even some of their 042 switches were differant in style.
K-Line went into bankruptcy and Lionel bought them out after that. Williams sold out to Bachman(no bankruptcy).
Anyway Williams was into selling good quality engines with basic controls and not into selling engines with electronics or sound systems in them, that way they could hold their price down.

I heard that there were a couple of add-ons for the Hogwarts Exp.
What are they and any photos ?
Doug,
Here’s the …; answer to your question… …
Are the R-T-R & K-Line Catalogs online? I’ve not seen these and am very interested in their content (as well as the 2009 Vol. 1 Catalog).
From all indications, the catalogs will not appear on Lionel’s web site until March.
Catalogs are online now - here’s a link to the R-T-R one: Lionel 2009 Ready-To-Run Catalog
And the K-Line: K-Line by Lionel 2009 Catalog Volume 1
