Hi all, i guess im having a problem with my 221,it use to have 3 positions on my e-unit,now as of late it starts in neutral then reverse, then n,n,n,then forward,i may be crazy, but this seems like 3 to many neutral positions, is it screwed or is there a fix or remedy,i will add just started o27 railroading in november 2005, any help would be appreciated, thanks for answers ahead of time.kevin[V]
ah, E-unit problems. Certainly repairable but a slight pain unitl you become a pro at it.
Could be a bad drum or fingers or a combo of both.
What I usually do when this starts happening is to blast it with t.v. tuner spray first and try to wipe the drum clean with q-tips. If that doesn’t fix it, then I just open 'er up and replace everything while i"m in there. New upper and lower fingers and a new drum. This procedure take dexterity and a lot of patience. If you need more help there’s a lot of people here who know this well.
Good luck.
