On a similar note does anyone know of a good source for small styrene lettering? I want to make engine name plates with raised lettering OR failing that I could if neessary photo etch them I suppose. Does anyone know the right acid/etchant? Is it ferric chloride like you use for making circuit boards?

Radio Shack has the right acid for photo-etching. I can’t remember if it’s sulphuric acid or ferric chloride, but tell them what you need it for and they will sell it to you. I’ve bought some there. Do an internet search on photo-etching and you will get your answer. Raised lettering can be accomplished with small peel & stick lettering. You might try a craft store for that or small plastic or metal type.
