Hello I am hoping someone can help with information regarding a Lionel HO train set I just bought. It has two set numbers, 5824 and 2893. It came in a display box and features an Erie center cab switcher and a missile launcher and an exploding boxcar and a helium car with helium tanks. I tried researching to no avail. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
The contents seem to match set 14013 from 1961, except the caboose was swapped out for a 0809 helium car. The numbers are curious, the highest number Lionel gave a HO set was 5767 in 1960, before switching to the 5 digit system in 1961, and they never gave a set a number in the 2800 series. Do you happen to have any pictures of the set?
Yes I could get a photo if I can figure out how to do it. The caboose is an 0841.
