Anyone now the correct Head light bulb for a Lionel 616 Flying Yankee ???
I think the Flying Yankee used a 430, which is a screw base, G4-1/2 bulb, rated at 14 volts, .25 amps.
You can also use a 432, which is also a screw base, G4-1/2 bulb. It is rated at 18 volts, .25 amps.
I don’t have any reference material handy to verify.
Thanks,
Why I ask is it needs a small bulb Dia to fit into place in the housing, all most as small as the screw of the base.

Then it certainly is not a 430 or 432.
I’d take the burned-out bulb to a well-stocked local hardware store, you just might be surprised what you find.
I wanted a brighter bulb in my Williams GP9 than the one that came with it, lo and behold the local Ace had a 12 volt automotive bulb that was a perfect fit and brighter too.
The headlight is a number-1449 lamp (14 volts, 200 milliamperes, G-3.5), Lionel part number 616-13.
The cars use the number-430 lamp (14 volts, 250 milliamperes, G-4.5), Lionel part number 27-3.
Thank you Bob!!!
