I have a Lionel 6520 searchlight car, but lamp, reflector and wire lead are missing. How is lamp mounted in the 6520 Searchlight housing? What socket is utilized. Appreciate any info/suggestions. Thanks.
goto www.ttender.com and then call Jeff the number is on the website he will answer all your question and sell you what you need
Look here for part numbers.
Thanks Kev. I’ll check out that site and give Jeff a call. I did look at Olsen’s site. However they show the parts for the rotating searchlight with the socket and coil mounted on the chassis. The 6520 which I have does not rotate and the lamp and reflector are housed in the searchlight housing. I’ll take a peek at your site as well. Appreciate your getting back and help you provided with other things in the past. Ed
Go back to Olsen’s Library, and search the 3520 car. That will show diagrams for both the 3520 & 6520, with part numbers. Read all the pages, to understand what each one requires for parts. One unit has a switch, the other doesn’t, so take caution when reading. It’s all there.
The construction of the 3520’s searchlight is very different than that of the 6520.
Here is a link to the parts list for the 6520: http://pictures.olsenstoy.com/cd/opcar/oc6520.pdf
The comment below is incorrect!

Good luck!
The lamp socket is part of the reflector. The reflector is pressed into the metal searchlight hood. I do not recall ever seeing the reflector listed as a seperate sale part. The parts list that Olsen’s has lists the head as an assembly. It probably did not come with the lens, lamp contract, spring, or bulb, but who knows.
You might want to look for a junker with a good head. Otherwise it probably will not be effective to repair your car.
