Lionel 8300 Locomotive

I am new here and I recently found a Lionel 8300 locomotive at a thrift store and have done some research and all the ones I have seen have 2 wheels. This one has 3 sets of wheels. Did Lionel make an 8300 with 3 sets of wheels or did someone replace the original with this one? I know its from a starter set from the 70’s I believe. I think it looks cool and was just curious. Hope someone can answer my question. I am not sure how to upload a picture of it. If someone can help me with that too, that would be great

The 8300 locomotive had 2 sets of drive wheels.

Are you saying you have a 2-6-0 instead of a 2-4-0? Lets see a pic.
