Lionel Commodore Vanderbuilt

I have a friend who has a scale Lionel Commodore Vanderbuilt Loco.I think It is a LionMaster Engine but am not sure.He does not have the paperwork and there is no number on the engine. It is dark Grey.(There is a photo of it in the September CTT on page 52.) There is a blue box with an orange circle with a silver “L” on the rear.Does anyone know the part number of this loco.I need an eccentric for the valve gear and need the part number to order it.

Thanks, Ed

Is this what you are looking for? The parts diagram for the loco can be downloaded from Lionel’s web site under Customer Service, Parts List and Exploded Diagrams.

Hey Ed,

Check here; http://www.lionel.com/Products/ProductNavigator/_ServiceDocuments/4892_combo.pdf

The ecentric crank is 690-700E-046 RH & -045 LH.

It is not a LionMaster engine. LionMaster engines are not scale. The Commodore Vanderbilt was first catalogued in 1996 in the first Lionel, LLC catalog, and was released in the wrong color. Dark grey is the correct color. It was also released in red, blue, and weathered.

LionMaster engines all contain CAN motors and Odyssey cruise, while the CV’s all have open frame AC motors.
