I have a bunch of Loinel rolling stock and accessories I want to sell
What’s the best way. Checked out E Bay There were 5500 Lionel items for sale. No thanks
Used Greenburg and Doyle to come up with value. Local collector offered me half of what they listed. Doesn’t seem right to get fifty cents on the dollar
50% of Greenburg sounds pretty good to me. Price guides are usually pretty high. You would have to sell each item seperately to even approach their values and be prepared to bring them to many train shows. [?]bay has 5500 items because that’s where people get the best price, simple as that. Put a reserve that’s the lowest you would take if you are worried.
price guides are way high. If you expect to get what is listed in Greenburg, you will have those trains for a very long time.
Also, condition is subjective, in that, as the owner, you may see no reason the trains are not considered in excellent condition. However, industry recognition of grade may not agree for valid reasons.
