The frame is from 1966. A 1966 car should lack the date and say instead, “BLT. BY LIONEL”. He’s got the door open, covering that part of the decoration. However, if, as he supposes, it is a sample for the 1966 reissue, the date might not have been deleted yet. I sent him a question about this; and he replied that the date is there.
