Can you believe it? He pays thousands for Lionel HO junk! It might be collectible, but I wouldn’t be caught dead with one of those trains. All he got was a cheesy switcher locomotive, a switch track piece with a display base, and an “NBC” sign. HE PAID $22,000 FOR THAT LITTLE! This drives me crazy! Just think of how many good, high quality O scale locomotives you could buy for that price. Gee, you could almost buy a real train locomotive. Is this guy nuts?? [:O][:O]

Lionel could reissue this set in O Gauge form for under $350.

i wish i was his kid… it is a perfect piece though, everything is mint condition. just 22,000 dollars to steep for me.

If you look at the winners bidder history it’s obvious he spends a lot of money on his trains and…ehem…porn. I’m sure he’s an eccentric fellow…either that or his ebay account has been hijacked…by an honest thief who apparently pays promptly.

I’d say eclectic… I hope he gets better prices on porn than trains…[}:)]

Each to his own, but that seems like a colossal lack of value for money. I mean, I’d drop $50 for it in the local flea market for the kitsch factor, but that’s about it. Particularly HO stuff, which would be useless except as a desk ornament (again, a pretty cool one).
