I got this some time ago with a bunch of 0-27 track but didn’t pay much attention until the other day and I can’t find any info on it. Is this for HO? Two posts are DC to track, two other posts are AC to accessories.
Could I possibly use this for the capacitive discharge circuit? The output is listed as 9-17 VDC, 20VAC.
I may drill out the rivets, pop the bottom off and take a look inside, there’s something rattling around in there.

1970s or early 80s Lionel made some DC only 027 engines for some low priced sets, I would guess thats where the transformer came from.
If you are not sure about the transformer take it to Warrick’s Hobby shop in Ft. Lauderdale or to Ready To Roll in north Miami and see what they say.
From your description, though, along with sir james 1, I would say it is a low end D.C. transformer thta’s not worth much.

An after thought here. Lionel’s large scale train sets also come with DC transformers.
Sir James is correct. Your transformer was supplied with O-27 Lionel DC sets during that time frame. I have the same transformer with a Lionel DC set in my collection.

I know where you’re coming from, I have the blue Chessie atlantic with steam special heavyweights and changing back and forth from AC to DC to run just one engine can be a pain. If memory serves, isn’t the 4690 the one that uses the same shell as the 1044?
I have a combined O31 and S gauge 4’ by 6’ in my bedroom and what I have now is a Lionel type R and a Flyer 4B to operate them. I installed brass and copper Leviton DPDT’s with white porcelain bases to alternate the transformers between the tracks. That way I can go into the twilight zone and run my DC Chessie set on the O gauge line and AC flyer on the S gauge oval.

Alrighty then! Thanx for the info. On the bottom I found the company name FunDimensions. I looked that up and didn’t find a whole lot except for some history.
Well Fundimensions was part of Mt Clemens Lionel. It started as MPC lionel. MPC was Model Products Corp they built plastic model cars., General mills owned it and when they bought the rights to make Lionel trains they moved Lionel to the Michigan plastics plant.
