Haven’t run our childhood train for years… before pop died in 1998. Got it out today to surprise the grandkids tomorrow and see that the power cord on the KW transformer is frayed close to where it exits the body of the transformer. Can’t see any screws on the bottom with which to open the transformer for a cord switch. Don’t seem to find manual online… or not sure where to look.
Can anyone help me… pronto? I may be reached at 760-604-0262 (San Diego area)… thanks in advance.
Took it to electrician across the street. We found the four screws on top that were covered with pop’s labels. Carefully replaced the cord only to have the whole thing smoke when we plugged it in at home… ugh. Oh, well, at least I tried.

That’s a pretty unfriendly message to a new person who is just looking for help. I guess we’ll look elsewhere where people are actually interested not only in trains, but in promoting the hobby with EVERYONE who is interested, and encouraging them along the way!
I think the last comment was taken out of context. Iam sure he was just trying to make sure it was understood that where you were at is for real trains. We are all friendly and love to answer questions or point you in the right direction. If you have any questions go ahead and ask there are lots of of people here with a lot of knowledge.
