I purchase above approximately 5 to 6 years ago.

Ran it for 10 minutes when first got it, back in box for 9 months, took out ran 5 minutes and

second drivers locked-up. Sent back to Lionel, they replaced second driver took home ran 10 minutes everything works fine. Back in box for 1 year.

Take out of box run 15 minutes and second driver locks up again. Tried resetting to no avail in both instances

Anyone else experience this problem or have any ideas? Highly unlikely the both drivers were bad.

I’ve had a wire to the rear motor come loose, which causes the rear set of drivers to stop (I think that’s what you’re describing).

Take off the shell (careful, some wires will remain attached) and check the wiring to the rear motor with a voltmeter.

I have this loco and it is a fine unit.

The advice above is correct. Both sets of drivers are powered in this loco. Check the wiring as advised as the can motor stopping will lock the drivers.

While you have it apart, remove the can motor and check that the drivers spin freely. If they do not, check the quartering of the drivers from one side to the other.
