Hello
At a upcoming local auction they have a Lionel o-gauge Commodore Vanderbilt. It’s a tender 265W Blue GreenTrain Engine, comes with cars 617,618 and also 619. Can anyone give me a idea on value. They do look in bad shape but i dont know anything about these. Thanks
You’d get a more knowledgeable answer if you posted the photo and asked the question at the Classic Toy Trains forum. http://www.trains.com/TRC/CS/forums/95/ShowForum.aspx
Hope this helps.

Actually, you might want to post this on the “Classic Toy Trains” forum to get more information. From what I’m looking at, I believe the locomotive is missing a trailing truck, and there seems to be no common connector truck on the short middle car. I had a Commodore Vanderbuilt that I inherited when I was a kid, but it was a different (red) set with seperate (non-articulated) passenger cars.
The guys over on the Toy Trains forum are really knowledeable, especially about classic Lionel. This one appears to be from the mid-thirties.
Good luck, it looks like an unusual Lionel set.
