I’ve searched the internet, looking for information regarding a Lionel pre-war train outfit, when it was built, what it may be worth. Any ideas where I might find this info…
Outfit No. 132
still in orginal boxs
and in pretty good shape (I think)
I normally model in HO, so tinplate is really an unknown for me.
Thanks for any help or comments…

larry, this lionel set #132 with a 248 engine, the 603 pullman and the 604 observation. it’s from the 1931 catalogue. as for a price check the greenberg’s guide they are a pretty good.
Hey, Magoo
Thanks for the info and quick response, I’ll check the Greenbergs Guide…
Again Thanks
Larry
I’ve got a Greenberg guide here and these are the values it gives:
-248 engine: $100 good condition, $160 excellent condition
-603 Pullman: Light red body and roof: $45 good, $85 excellent; red body and black roof: $35 good, $60 excellent; light green body with dark green roof: $35 good, $60 excellent; maroon body and roof: $60 good, $125 excellent
-604 observation car: It comes in all of the same colour variations as the 603 and the values are the same for each of them, except the maroon one is $70 good, $150 excellent
These values are for the pieces individually, so having them together as a set with the original box will increase the value.
WOW thank you so much for the information. One thing is for sure your all a wealth of information. I really appreciate all your help…
Have a great day…
Larry
