Can any body post some pictures of a standard O lionel diesel or steamer beside a traditional diesel or steamer? I just would like to see the size difference so my traditional locos and cars wont look weird when they are combined with standard O. Any pictures will be great!
Some of the traditional items are scale but lack the detail and features of “Standard O”. If you are concerned about size/scale issues, the catalog usually has the dimensions of the item to the prototype.
Sorry, actually at work right now, so I don’t have access to my trains. Some will run all “traditional” and then some “Standard O” separately, and some will mix them by say, putting a flatcar in between a consist of Standard O and then traditional. In the end, you have to judge when they are in front of you. Some will work, some won’t. I have both and usually will run with one or the other. In a yard, I would keep standard O closer to the viewer’s edge of the layout and smaller traditional pieces away from the viewer (forced perspective).
