I would like a schematic of the wiring diagram for the No. 80 pre-war standard gauge semaphore. Picked one up at Greenberg’s and the wiring was trashed.
Also, the best way to test the solenoid. The lamp works fine and all the parts are there except the ladder (what, you have one?). It isn’t in perfect condition but will make me happy if I can get it to work. I plan on using it on my F-scale Garden Railway (I hope that isn’t sacreligious). I won’t leave it out in the rain. I promise!
I noticed in my Greenberg Lionel Repair Guide that older equipment operated on 6 volts. It does glow rather nicely on a 9v battery.
spankybird: Thanks for the response. The No. 82 is similar, but unfortunately the pdf doesn’t show the wiring. I’m sure that I can figure it out… eventually, but I didn’t want to blow out the coil in the process (assuming the coil still functions - I haven’t done a continuity test on it yet.
