Lionel Steam Engine Won't Run in Command Mode

I have a Lionel 6-28015 4-6-2 Steam w/ command control.

The train will not run in command but will in traditional mode.

The whistle, horn & light work in command. When I try to move the train in command in will occasionally move forward a few inches with boost. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Sounds like the perfect solution. Exactly what I would do.

If the reset does not work try changing it from TMCC mode to CAB1 in the remote. I had a steam engine that would do about the same thing. Mine would run in the TMCC mode if you spin the red knob many times and then begin to move. So I tried the cab1 mode on it ran ok with the remote. You loose some of the functions in that mode. Just what I have run into myself.

Still the same issue. I did the reset using 34 (per website) and 43 per the manual.

To all:

It’s running fine. After sitting for a few days, I pressed the circuit boards to ensure contact. It didn’t work last week, but I tried again today and it ran.
