I know replacement lanterns are available,at least the type where the bulb is up inside of them. I’m looking for lanterns that go on the switches where the bulb is located below the lantern. These lanterns had an “insert” in them, some what like a prism, that reflected the light out the lenses. I don’t have the switch part number handy, but the best I can recall they were 0-27 switches and they looked like and operated like a regular lantern but the insert was made to be the lens part and was made of clear plastic and the prism part was colored for the red and green light. We have a few of these switches donated to our club, but the lanterns are missing. Thanks in advance. Ken

Hi
You describe them well. they are routinely on ebay. the type for the lionel 1122 sw are listed now under this item number 320132988441 for six of them, with olsen as the seller. i guess if you don’t want to bid on ebay you could buy directly from him. He also sells the other type, 711-45.
good luck

the lanterns you are looking for come in 2 slightly different lengths. I beleive the difference is between the 1122 and 1122e switch tracks. If you try to put the longer lanterns into the tracks that call for the shorter ones the switch will bind. you have to look at the housing on the switch track that covers the motor & light. one is 1" tall and the other is about 7/8" tall. I have used the taller lanterns in the shorter motor covers, but you have to leave it stick up a little. this lets the light show around the lantern. try to get the correct lanterns for your switches.
Thanks for all your great help here. Ken
