Cleaning out the basement I found a Lionel 150 watt type V “Trainmaster” transforment. I can’t find anything about it on line. Most of the other items are from the 1950’s and early '60’s. I’ve been told it’s worth something. Anybody have any ideas.

A Lionel transformer’ s value usually go by the ratio of $1 per watt. Depending on what condition of your V, its average value will be around 100-150, again, depending on the condition.
If you want to have any of your Lionel items serviced and tuned up, I can do it. Overhauling almost any item to operating condition will bring the value up.
Lionel offered the Type V transformer from 1939-42 (“Prewar”) and again from 1946-47 (“Postwar”). The Greenberg’s Price Guide for 2005 values the Prewar version at $65 (good condition) and $125 (exc), while the Postwar version values are $85/$150. I’m not aware of any difference between the two; I suspect the variable pricing reflects low sales volumes at train meets (on which the listed values are based).
The Type V is a rugged and reliable transformer. However, it lacks buttons to reverse the trains and blow the whistles/horns. You can wire a momentary-off pushbutton for reversing, and a Lionel 15906 trigger button (if you can find one) for the whistle/horn. Alternately, it is an excellent transformer for accessories.
A search of completed eBay auctions for Lionel “V” transformers showed a price range from $25 to $45, all in working condition. One in excellent condition with an original box sold for $70.

Think rlplionel is right about pricing. I paid $100 for a new KW [yes new] in original box and $150 for a rebuilt ZW.
