I have several of the older Lionel Scale steamers from the 1990;s with the original Railsounds in them. I am thinking of upgrading them to Railsounds 4.0 from Train America Studios. The locos I am thinking of doing are
The T-1’s Reading and Chessie
NP Northern, and the SP Daylight Northern.
Has anyone else done this conversion to there Lionel locos? Is it worth it?
Please let me know
Mark
Haven’t done any steamers. Done diesels and it is easy. I used Digital Dynamics boards. TAS are a little too steep for me. TAS does offer the engineer on board though. OGR has a Back Shop Video on that .
Mark,
Like the Chief, I have done diesel converisons, but no steam. Two suggestions.
You might want to change the title of your thread to more nearly reflect what you really want to know & you may want to check the TMCC forum on the OGR board. A lot more technical types freguent that forum. I have used TAS and Electric RR boards but no Digital Dynamics. Had good success with both.
I checked out Digital Dynamics website and it seems the conversion to RS 4.0 in my steamers will be easy, and the price is very affordable compared to TAS.
Thanks for the tips
Mark
