Lionel Wiring Diagram and parts

I recently was reunited with my boy hood train.

How can I determine its age? It is a lionel 2-6-2 with 2025 written on the side.
Does it have a serial #?
Some wires were broken and I need to know how to rewire. I got the light working, and the selenoid switcher working, and have cleaned the armature and brushes. The bottom set of contacts on the switcher are broken and I am not sure where some of the wires should go.

Can anyone help? I also have 3 Marx engines with freight cars that I was able to get operational. I’ve tried to find a wiring diagram, but have had no luck. Also would really like to verify the age of the trains. I’m sure they were purchased prior to 1951

[#welcome]Marcus, this may help a little, till the other guys come with more info. [img] http://www.postwarlionel.com/[/mg]. It should help identify your eng.

Try the link for Olsen’s Toy Trains and go into the “Library.” They are a great source for replacement parts also.

2025 2-6-2 Lionel Lines steamer, 1947-1949 (the '47 version had an unpainted aluminum smokestack and no simulated coupler on the pilot).

A parts list for the 2025 can be found here -

but it appears to be missing the page for the motor assembly. The complete roller assembly with bracket is #224-E90 ($17.17 from Olsen’s).

The wiring schematic for the 2025 is the same as for the 224E, which can be found here -

I don’t know much at all about Marx trains - sorry!

Thanks! The links were helpful!
