Lionel’s D-146 Dealer Display Layout Rebooted! Plan 1

And they say my two oval layout is boring!

It’s an excellent little railroad and brings back lots of memories of growing up in the 40’s and 50’s. We all had to have a 4X8 sheet of plywood back then even if we never had any more than a circle of track, a short train and an endless what if imagination.

way to go lionel thanks for track plans keep them coming

I can remember a 4 X 8 layout under the christmas tree for many years.

Great layout for a limited space, moving from N.J. to Florida eliminated the advantage of a basement. Always looking for small layouts.

A nice layout, not all people can have space for a large layout. I like to see more plans for small layouts.

Great plan, I get ideas from any size layout and love to examine them all.

I will suggest that the PDF file be re-loaded in LANDSCAPE format. An 8 1/2 x 11 portrait print is a little small. An 11 x 8.5 landscape print of the plan would be easier to read and show a bit more detail.

I like the plan and it can be used as a start on building a decent layout. I wish there more articles on plans this size as many of us do not have space for those big, expensive layouts. You need to get back in touch with the normal people that can afford normal size layout railroading. It is nice to see some of the big, expensive layouts but they do not fit into the middle class.

great starter for those who wnat something easy to build and to learn from
