Today while in Target I saw they had the G scale Lionel Polar Express set, and while I thought they were basically a plastic Christmas train (kind of like the NewBright trains), I was actually very impressed at the train’s appearance. It appears that the train has some high quality to it, and you could flip open the box for more information about the set. There was even quite a bit of writing about Lionel itself and the quality trains they make. After seeing this set, the other “Lionel Lines” O scale set there didn’t look as good!
I also noticed they had an expantion track pack. I’m glad Lionel made this train, because it will be enjoyed by many people who just want a train to go around the tree and don’t want to get into the entire system. But even I, who has the O scale Polar Express, think this set is neat, too.
