I went up to Hayward Wisconsin a month or so ago for the opening of fishing and to help the Mother-in-law with spring cleaning weeding and mowing of her property. Well the fishing stunk the water was still too cold. One of you in particular probably remembers that. I won’t mention any names Mike.
I always at least swing through the parking lot to visit the little red caboose in Stone Lake. I know a lot of you modelers appreciate the old wooden cabooses. Some of you scratch build them and appreciate a dead on Straight picture so you can scale it out. So here’s the old Soo line number 593 little red wooden caboose.

What town and state is this little wooden caboose in? My wife and i love wooden cabooses. None around here in Michigan.
Stone Lake Wisconsin just outside of Hayward Wisconsin. I just want to add I think the town of Stone Lake did a really good job keeping up maintenance and paint. I don’t know the history of restoration but some organization did a a top-notch job. I’ll go a little off track here and show an you an image from Siren Wisconsin just before you get to Stone Lake. All these towns are tourism and Resorts based on hunting and fishing. I hope you like Bigfoot.

I guess that depends on where you’re talking about in Michigan. You can find a list of preserved cabooses in Michigan at http://www.railroadmichigan.com/cabooselist.html
At least eight of them in the lower peninsula are wooden and nicely preserved.
This isn’t a wooden caboose, but it’s what springs to mind for me when I hear “little red caboose…”

The photo was taken at New Castle, PA, by my good friend Charlie Bowyer. (I have my own photo of it, too, but can’t find it at the moment.)

Actually I think you and your friend Charlie fit the thread title better than I did.
I like it.
