Does anyone know the proper height for a freight platform & a passenger platform, either in HO or actual height? Thanks

Looking at the drawing on the standards page, the loading platform should be 9/16" above the railhead.

Frieght platform - to match your box cars, so that the forklift can drive inside them.
Passenger - it depends; high level or low level - match your passenger cars. High level are level with the inside floor height. Low level about 8" below the bottom step.
IIRC, the height of a typical low level passenger platform should be 6" above the railhead. At my RR club, we decided to make the platform flush with the railhead so that track cleaning would be easier and so that there would be no chance for obstructions to hit anything.

[#ditto]I don’t use passenger equipment but the freight platform is dead-on. Level with the floors of your box cars.
my 2 cents:
freight: use the NMRA standard. Different manufacturers of box cars may have some variance in floor height. It’s best to use the standards whenever possible.
Passenger: According to the ATSF railway, the platform slopes from the station down to the track. At the station it is 6" above rail height. At the track it is flush with the rail. In my models I do not model the slope and keep everything at rail height.
