Location, location, location

Hey there guys. I’m looking for other RR modelers in my neck of the woods for possible meetings, trading of ideas, and (a long shot here) mentoring. I’m new to model railroading and don’t know anyone in my town in the hobby. The only “hobby shop” doesn’t carry model trains anymore due to new ownership. It’s more like a very expensive toy store.

I’ll give my general location here and if anyone within this location responds, then we can be more specific.

I’m in northern Alberta, Canada.

If this is your general location, feel free to send me a message. Looking forward to talking with local hobbyists.

Are there any clubs in your neck of the woods? Or any one near enough you’d be willing to travel to it/them?

You don’t have to tell the general populous here, but where is the next bigggest or biggest city to you? You willing to travel there?

At the very tippy top right hand side you will see the gray toolbar. If you bring the scroll down menu up under “Resources” and click the “coming events” Up will pop a list that includes a menu at the left, there in gray, click the “model railroad groups” link and see what you find there. You will find 3 in Alberta. Dunno which is closest to you as I don’t know the territory like you do.

Just trying to be helpful [;)]

Galaxy, I wish I new about that part of this site earlier [(-D], I looked for Alberta clubs a different way. Unfortunately, the closest club is about 4-5 hours drive away and my traveling time is very limited. I might be able to travel to see a show once a year or so. That’s something I’ll look into.
