Loco Headlight Question

Just curious, but what posistions did you hold on all these railroads? Seems like to me if your were this experienced at railroading, the thought of using one of the bulbs off the rear of your engine would have crossed your mind.

I work for NS a conductor been doing it less than an year Class I RRs share power so I’ve been on all of them but never worked for them I have had only one instance where abulb has burned out

So my question still stands - do the unions allow you to change it if you are, say in the yard and getting ready to leave town and you are the engineer or the conductor and want to save some time? Are the unions still as hard-nosed about these things as they were way back in time?

If I am at my home terminal where shop forces are on duty 24/7, they will change it out. At my away from home terminal the shop forces are not on duty 24/7. When they are, they will make the change. If they are not there or I am out on the road, I will do it myself.
