Loco ID Please

Found this Loco near my house
Does any one know what it is ?

That’s either a GP15D or GP20D, a new-build switcher by Boise Locomotive in partnership with EMD.

Yeah, it’s one of the new Hybrid switchers known as “Green Goats”.

It’s UGLY,…thats what it is!

Seriously though, I think these guys are right.

Some of the Green Goats have the same appearance of GP15Ds and GP20Ds. Comparing that to UPY 2004, it is not a Green Goat. Notice the exhaust stack and large radiators.

Actually, I must say these are nice, cool lookin’ locos. Anyone know if anyone’s gonna produce any similar to them, because this is a must have for me!

I actually think the Green Goats look prety cool. Maybe not the low long hood prototype but the rest look pretty sharp. The engineers who use em love 'em: 360-degree view, easy on the ears and zero learning curve. And they really look like goats!

There was an article in Model Railroader a year or two ago that covered this engine. I believe it was in the prototype section of the magazine. If I get a chance tomorrow I will look for it.

Meet The Green Goat

by David Lustig

It’s an MP1500D, it was originally built as demonstrator MPEX 1502, I don’t know what the frame was recycled from. This link is a roster of MK/Boise/MPI power:

Ok this makes sense since it is listed to the HB&T
they may have sold it to the current shortline out of Dayton Texas
who’s name is painted on the side
Thanks

Ugly, indeed, there Philip, but "Form Follows Function (Buckminster Fuller???). There have been some locomotives - the FA/PAs come readily to mind - that were artistic compositions but a railroad locomotive is designed to work and these “Green Goats” do that - observe the visibility from the cab.
