[8D]Hey train guys and gals! I have a small problem[B)].I have two idenical SD90MAC’S that I like to run together in a MU they are both from KATO “BUT” one would pull away from the other, they are both DC anol log loco’s and they both have KADEE couplelers, is there a way that I can adjust them or would I have to get DCC decoders??[?] Thanks TrainsRMe[:D]
Put the faster locomotive as the lead locomotive and re-adjust the Kadee couplers…(if the couplers are pulling apart then the problem is in the height of the couplers connecting the locomotives together) you can get them perfectly matched if you use a KADEE coupler height gauge or an NMRA gauge to indicate if your couplers are high, low, or evenly matched…sometimes I have to grind away the metal or the plastic with a dremel tool where the kadees mount to the engine frame to raise the coupler or add styrene shims under the draft gear box to lower the coupler
THEY SHOULD pretty much run together. CALL KATO USA and ask for service.Something is holding back the slower one.
Lube time
