I have an older Atlas classic RS-3 that could use a make over. Does anyone know if the Atlas/Kato shell will fit on the Atlas classic frame. The reason I am asking is that there are 2 availible on e-bay right now.

The older Atlas\Kato coupler mounts on the pilot while the newer Classic coupler mounts on the frame. If you remove the plastic mount the body will drop right on.
The pilot will bend on those older units if you pull a heavy train causing them to uncouple. With a short train you will be OK.
