having a bit of grief with the said item, i can’t get it to work from my Sony Vaio PCG Z1RSP. i only get the timeout talking to comand station error when i try to use it. i have installed it on my Dell desktop and it worked first time. the settings used on the Vaio were identical to the Dell but it doesn’t work, but following the instructions it should. any help appreciated.
Go on the Internet to the Sony site, and look in the support/downloads area - see if there any updated drivers for the USB - even older USB 1.1 should work here…

i can’t find any updates for the USB, but thanks for the idea. i have had a reply from another post that appears to be blaming the vaio architecture.
