hey, i recently got a nice Athearn Dash 8-40 BW. it was a display model but it is in perfect condition except the handrails are warpted inward from the light in the cabinate. i cant bend them back. i found the part number and i can easily order new ones but i dont know how to install the new ones without damaging the loco. any suggestions???
-thanx, kevin
I don’t know about that particular model but I know a lot (if not all) of the N-scale locos have handrails that just press fit in. You can carefully pop them off with a flat thin object.
oh yah i forgot to say its ho (if that helps)
leave the bent ones on it…gives the model a little carrictor…and its prototypical too… not all handrails on real locomotives are strigth as arrows… alot are bent in and bent up in places dude to small “accidents” over the years of service…
