LOCOMOTIVE

The special one time issue magazine entitled LOCOMOTIVE has been advertised here and elsewhere for some time. I received a solicitation early on (months ago) I believe in my TRAINS magazine or somewhere similar. Well, anyway, I immedietly ordered it on my credit card and have been billed and NO SIGN OF THE MAGAZINE AFTER SEVERAL MONTHS.

Have any of you other fans ordered this magazine and seen it delivered to your mailbox yet?

According to the ad link at the right, the projected shipping date is late September.

If you look in the Fine print it says that "Locomotive will arrive
in late September 2006."

…and how is this different than Extra 2200 South?

Yes indeed, thanks guys. I am also one of those who assembles things and THEN reads the instructions to find out what to do with the left over parts.

Is it standard practice to bill you before it even ships?

I take it that you’ve never ordered anything via mail order, online, etc. before!!
You pay, they send. (when the check clears!)

How do you think we stock our junkboxes? [:D]

“Directions? We don’t need no stinking directions!” or, as a mechanic friend of mine used to say, “ANYBODY can put it back together using ALL the parts.”

[(-D][(-D][(-D] LOL, good one, LOL, that started my day off with a sime, thanks.

Based on the descriptions I’ve read it will be very different from X2200S, which is after all really a compilation of news reports dealing with roster changes and manufacturer info, along with some statistical info and photos. It seems this will be similiar to the old TRAINS “Annual Motive Power survey” issues with extended articles, etc. More like DIESEL ERA but focusing on the current motive power scene…

I believe he was meaning the amount of time it takes to get to your maibox after
it was ordered! X2200South is notoriously slow!!

I am definitely interested, but not patient enough to wait for September. I’ll order when the time is closer.

AH!,one of those persons that wait until it’s available at the local hobby shop,
Guess you don’t want to make sure you have a guaranteed copy of it.

No I will probably order it through the magazine, but just at a later date. Although its possible a local store might have it. I just don’t see the need to order months in advance. I understand your point though.

I will order one.
