Locomotives I'd like to see them make

How about a CPR ten-wheeler, either the D6 or D10 class? The CPR had over five hundred of these engines, manufactured mostly in the Angus shops, but also in Scotland, Germany and Schenectady. Also the G1 and G2 Pacific class. These were all lightweight engines but were the real workhorses of the branch lines and subsidiaries like the DAR and Quebec Central.

I’d settle for any upscale plastic/diecast CPR steam…won’t be too fussy. [:P]

Sure, as I’ve stated before…

HO scale:

Seaboard Coast Line black and Bicentennial GE U36B

New Haven GE EP-5 electric

C & O 4-8-4 Grienbrier steamer

Amtrak EMD SDP40F (flat nosed version)

An HO scale U30CG in plastic (Genesis quality)!!! They would probably only appeal to a relatively small market, so it may never happen.

I very excited about the fact that we are finally gonna get a decent plastic FP45. Hopefully they will finally be in next month…

Late phase GP40-2. B&O EM-1

B&O EM-1. This is top priotity on my list.

Then, way down but still next comes the DM&IR Yellowstones.

A good running 2-8-0 with 50" or 55-56" drivers and 15 ft or so driving wheelbase and slide valve cylinders, Stephenson valve gear. Virtually every 8 coupled engine has 60-62" drivers.

A good running 4-6-0 with 70-72" drivers. and oil lamp headlights

A good running 4-4-0 with a 1880’s boiler and details

Here we go again.

And even this one that is currently running on the front page (but steam only):

We need some decent HO scale pre-1900 era locomotives…

1875 4-4-0 w/ 56-57 inch drivers

1875 2-6-0 w/ 50-52 inch drivers

1878 4-6-0 w/ 56-57 inch drivers

1878 2-8-0 w/ 50-52 inch drivers

me too

In addition to some heavy muscle (H-8s; EM-1s: M3/M4s; simple 2-8-8-2s) my (freelanced) Seaboard and Western Virginia Railway needs bunches of low drivered (69") Pacifics and 73"-75" drivered Northerns to lift my heavyweight passenger trains across the Appalachian Plateau.

I heard a rumor that True Line Trains is doing the CPR D10 in a couple of years. Apparently they are doing a CN Mountain after the Northern and then the D10.

I believe my source is a credible one.

CN Charlie

There’s a bunch of N scale locomotives I wish they’d make.

For starters, how about some Pennsy electrics? Kato announcd plans for a PRR GG1 last year, but no updates have been forthcoming as to a timetable… I’d also love someone to make a P5a (either the boxcab version or streamlined).

I’d go for any Pennsy steam engine in N scale (I don’t count the stillborn PCM M1 4-8-2 announcement, insiders say it’s never gonna happen).

However, the unavailability of PRR steam in N has actually created a hobby within a hobby for me. After kitbashing an L1s 2-8-2, an H10sb 2-8-0, and an M1 4-8-2 in N scale, I found out that I love building my own steam engines!

So, the real question is, “what locomotives would I like to make?”

MK1200G LAJ Genset switcher BNSF 4 & 6 axle slugs ATSF all in plastic as I believe the’ve all been or will be done in brass which is a little to pricey for me.

OH HO SCALE ON THE ABOVE

Oh good Lord, he’s gone over to the Classic Model Railroading side!

Next thing you know, he’ll be getting lathed. [(-D]

Looks like Imprecisely Cast Models (ICM) is going to have to start making 'em in N scale.

A NYC Shay! Covered wagon!

Im with mcddhawk, it would be nice to see modern switches like the gensets or green goats, also slugs would be nice to, I didnt even know they made thoes in brass. Also an MP36 for metra, and maybe a ES44 or SD70ACE that isnt or wont be so expensive, like maybe have kato or atlas make them.

Oh Yeah!!
