I’m looking for a picture of a certain type of bridge the short line logging railroads of northern Wisconsin used to cross the Pine and Peshtigo rivers. All that’s left of these structures now is several mounds of small rocks at regular intervals where the tracks used to cross the rivers. I’m guessing that log cribs would be placed in the water and filled with rocks and then heavier logs would be laid from crib to crib to form the bridge, but I can"t find a photo to confirm this.
Try posting this in general discussion or layouts, I’ll bet you get some good responses.
