Loksound Sound File Updates

I’m sort of new to the hobby, I recently purchased an Atlas Gold Series locomotive with loksound 5 decoder installed. I updated the sound file using the lokprogramer and since doing so my function keys, example headlights, ditch lights front and rear no longer work properly. The left rear ditch light is constantly lit, and the front ditch lights don’t turn on at all. The function key mapping and light outputs all look correct. Am I doing something wrong?

Some manufacturers, Rapido Trains, Scale Trains and to some degree Atlas, use specific programming to match ‘their’ motherboard and to activate ‘custom’ features that they incorporate. Sometimes they make the sound project available for download. Other times you have to contact the manufacturer to get a link to their proprietary sound project after ‘proof of purchase’.

Atlas looks like they haven’t updated any of their documentation to cover the ESU Loksound 5 DCC. The latest I can find is for the Loksound Select which has been discontinued.

Did your locomotive come with a data sheet that explains what functions are available? You might do best to contact Atlas and give them specifics about which sound project (usually a 5 digit ESU number) you installed on the decoder.

Is your specific locomotive listed here?

Good Luck, Ed
