Well I looked in the online mag. index but could’nt find when the ‘Looking Back’ atricles started in Model Railroad Magazine. Used to love reading these and I don’t have the time to actually look thru all the mags. Even though that would be a great way to spend a week or so.
Just wanted to say [#welcome] Bryan to the trains forum. Glad you came by. I looked around and didn’t see a looking back link. Many magazines only post articles on a current issue, as the would have to keep paying an author for old articles. Maybe that is where the link went. If I learn more I will let you know. Again [#welcome]

These were by John page a old MR editor from the 50 or 60 I think. They talked about his experences growing up along the Penn. I belive they were published in the late 80. will have to pull them out a look. Thanks for the welcome, getting back into the hobby after many years away. Now have a 6 year old and a 8 month old both boys and the 6 year old likes trains so I say why not
I too just returned to trains after a 25 year absence. I have a 9 year old girl, 6 year old boy. I wanted to have a family hobby, that is what brought me back. Enjoy and ask away. I have learned so much from the guys on this forum it has been great.
I am building a 14 x 8 layout, changed it about 5000 times originally started out as a 4 x 8.
Go slow as much has changed. Be cautious in the buying world, everything is different than it was when I last was in.
But the bottom line is to have fun, and enjoy. Especially the looks on the kids faces. We had Santa deliver the Thomas the train layouts for Christmas, it was great. Now we are making buildings, and getting ready to fini***he big layout in the garage.
Enjoy [:D] [:D] [:D] [:D] [:D] [:D] [:D]
